Taking a trip back in time, Royal Wolf was there as fast and flashy vintage vehicles revved their engines at the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival
It wasn’t only vintage vehicles on show at the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival in Victoria earlier this month – Royal Wolf shipping containers were also front and centre.
Making its return after a year of Covid-19 lockdowns and restrictions, the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival was a three-day celebration of everything auto at the picturesque Geelong Waterfront from March 4 to 6.
National shipping container company Royal Wolf supplied nine 20ft containers for the event, which featured a showcase of hundreds of cars and motorbikes, plus the festival’s famous quarter-mile sprint races on Geelong’s Ritchie Boulevard.
While 900 cars and bikes lined the Geelong Waterfront, 300 classic and exotic cars sped down the boulevard in the festival’s traditional sprint events.
Royal Wolf has supported the festival for several years, and Geelong branch manager Justin Van Loon says the company was happy to return as a sponsor in 2022.
“We do not sponsor a lot of events, but we love to support and sponsor this local community festival,” he said.
“With the 2021 event postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, participants, volunteers and locals flocked to the waterfront to not only see unique vehicles, but to enjoy the sprint races and other attractions.”
The nine Royal Wolf containers were used for storage and to facilitate event officials.
The festival’s judges and race event timekeepers had the best seats in the house from inside one of Royal Wolf’s 20ft Outdoor Room containers, as they officiated the races which have lit up Geelong Waterfront since 1956.
Meanwhile, race commentators were broadcasting from their trackside Royal Wolf 20ft Event Kiosk container.
“They also used some 20ft Office containers to house the officials during breaks in the action, but also have all the race times recorded, clocked in and set up,” Mr Van Loon said.
Royal Wolf also supplied a refrigerated shipping container for the event’s VIP Marquee, an area that hosted VIPs with exclusive access to all-day hospitality. The VIP area was the top spot for watching the races unfold.
Royal Wolf had a display site at the entrance to the bustling pits, where visitors could see bikes and cars being prepared for the sprint race events.
The 20ft Wolf Lock Safety Containers supplied for the festival have an easy to open handle, safety exit feature and superior locking system for a reduced risk of theft.
Also available in 10ft or 40ft models, the 20ft option was the perfect size for the large community event, which attracted thousands of visitors.
Royal Wolf has a proud history of supporting major events held round the country, such as the Australian Open, the Australian Grand Prix and Melbourne’s The Lume art attraction.
