Royal Wolf proudly supported the NT Rugby Hottest 7s competition, which took place at TRL Stadium on November 16 and 17. The Darwin-based tournament saw teams from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Singapore battle it out for their share in a $86,000 prize pool.
The competition featured over 80 games of Hottest 7s rugby, with 18 senior men’s, eight senior women’s and three under 18 youth boys’ teams competing in the event. Teams were cheered on with over 2,000 sports fans and spectators in attendance.
Royal Wolf supplied a 10-foot container to NT Rugby, which was converted into an official merchandise shop for use over the course of the tournament. The container was fully insulated and featured an external overhead awning, folding bench, sliding window with security mesh, electrical outlets, internal lighting and air conditioning.
“We were thrilled to support the NT Rugby Hottest 7s event,” says Leslie Liddle, Area Manager for Royal Wolf Darwin. “As big fans of the game, it was a privilege to work with NT Rugby to ensure the event was a success."
The 2019 winners in the women’s division were the Festerville Industry Stallions who defeated First Nations Rugby in the finals. In the men’s division, the Miwatj Stallions beat the Devetas to claim the winning title.
“NT Rugby Union sincerely value their ongoing relationship with Royal Wolf and the support the company provides to all of our members,” said Tamie Needham, Chief Executive Officer, NT Rugby.
