One of Western Australia's biggest construction projects at Capital Square has been utilising Royal Wolf, Australasia's largest supplier of shipping containers, not just for storage, but to help keep pedestrians safe during the works.
Royal Wolf Hoardings and Gantries
An important and ongoing concern that large-scale building sites face is ensuring the construction remains within the boundaries, keeping passersby safe. This is the number one priority for companies, including Multiplex Australasia who are in the process of developing the Capital Square precinct, the new headquarters of resources company, Woodside. The new precinct is being developed on one of Perth's major roads that extends from the CBD along the Swan River - Mounts Bay Road. This road sees a vast number of pedestrians and cars travel along it on a daily basis. This added an extra layer of complexity for the construction site needing to ensure the works didn't impact commuters - particularly when working on the edge of the site. That's where Royal Wolf came in to help.
The building and construction team at Royal Wolf Perth provided Multiplex Australasia with 60 metres of pedestrian hoardings with 36 metres of storage above. This layered solution not only provided overhead protection but a much need storage component for the project. Wayne Eastough, Business and Development Executive at Royal Wolf, commented "This tailored approach for Multiplex Australasia has pedestrian safety at the core. The hoardings include lighting so that people continue to feel safe walking through them at night. "The stacked storage was a necessary requirement to add on top of the hoardings given the tight footprint of the large-scale site," added Eastough. Travis Hart, Site Manager at Multiplex Australasia added, "Royal Wolf's unique overhead protection and storage is well suited for the building site. The design is compact and quick to install - making it the right choice for this important construction project." Royal Wolf Perth Customer
