Jason Singh is still going strong in his 16th year of working with Royal Wolf. As a “Wolfie”, he’s a gun “all-rounder” who has helped turn a Queensland depot into the company’s No.1 ranked medium-sized facility.
He’s been a Royal Wolf staple for 16 years and Jason Singh embodies what it means to be a “Wolfie” - a hard worker who views every day as an opportunity to learn and improve.
Jason is passionate about being a positive influence on his Royal Wolf colleagues and always delivers for customers.
A Hire Consultant who services customers nationwide, Jason is based at Royal Wolf’s Meadowbrook depot, 25km from Brisbane. Since moving to Meadowbrook two years ago, after previously holding a sales role at Banyo, on Brisbane’s northside, Jason assists with the day-to-day running of the depot, organises hire containers Australia wide, completes minor repairs, washes containers, drives forklifts and helps customers with tips on using their containers.
Together with Royal Wolf colleague and Branch Manager Mark Reid, Jason has helped elevate Meadowbrook to Royal Wolf’s No.1 medium-sized depot. Such is the power of sheer hard work.
“What I’m proud of is we achieved that No.1 spot within six months of my arriving here,” Jason says.
“We’re on the same page - we work together, work hard and respect and like each other, which helps lift the standard. Mark and I just get things done. Give us something to do and it doesn’t matter how we do it, we’ll get it done,” Jason says.
“It’s our goal to make this depot No.1 every time.”
16 YEARS AND COUNTING …
Jason has notched up an impressive 16 years at Royal Wolf, and he’s not done yet. Not by a long shot.
“I love the people I work with, they keep me going and keep me motivated and I love the variety of work,” he says.
“The knowledge of the people within the company is great. Even after 16 years I don’t know everything, but I can always find someone who knows what I don’t. We have experts in all different areas I can ring up, bounce off and learn from.”
AN HONEST DAY’S WORK
Jason has earned his reputation as an all-rounder at Royal Wolf, and he’s not happy unless he’s busy.
“If I don’t do an honest day’s work for the pay I get, then I don’t go home happy. I’ve always busted my butt from day one, from the time I was managing my cousin’s restaurants when I was 18 to where I am today,” Jason says.
“I can’t go away without knowing I’ve done the best I can do on that day.”
THE ‘BOWLING ALL-ROUNDER’
Away from his busy work life, Jason is a gun cricketer who played at representative level in his heyday, boasts a best bowling effort of 6/51 and has taken “a number of five-fors”.
On the weekend you can find the “bowling all-rounder who can keep wickets” at the Everton Districts Cricket Club. Then he’ll be scoring/coaching/helping out at his two daughters’ netball matches, and also finds time to coach his son’s soccer team.
Jason is currently playing alongside a 77-year-old and has previously faced off against a 95-year-old who took three wickets.
“I’ve been so close to taking a hat trick,” he enthuses. “I was one ball away!”
