Problem
BMA manages the infrastructure, technology and systems that control the sites where large mining equipment is periodically maintained. They needed a safe, portable place to store equipment and house the electrical supply for their data rack during major shutdowns. BMA also required a data link so they could leverage the WIFI in their head office, which was over 10kms away.
Solution
Our expert team produced a custom designed and built container that solved both business challenges in one combined unit. The containerised solution not only keeps hardware safe and secure, it’s also easy to transport, addressing a key concern of BMA. The container houses the department’s own data rack and has its own store room with custom built, modified shelving to secure the hardware and equipment during transport. The exterior of the containers features collapsible antennas, which were imported from Italy, as well as bright rainbow artwork. The custom container also features an innovative Fierco 10m portable lightweight telescopic mast to give a line of site for WIFI to reach the remote location from BMA’s head office, which was sourced and installed by Royal Wolf.
Outcome
2 x 20-foot containers (6058 x 2438 x 2896h), one for the data centre and one for the store room.
