Royal Wolf isn’t one to shy away from challenges or innovation, so when one of Australia’s largest construction companies, ProBuild came knocking on our (container) door and presented us with this project – it was a job we couldn’t resist.
The Project is called “The Ribbon”, which is located in Darling Harbour, where Probuild and Royal Wolf are collaborating to construct not just the new Imax Theatre but with a hotel towering above as well. At any given time over 300 workers can be on site, which range from labourers, tradesmen and truck drivers, which meant Royal Wolf needed to work efficiently when supplying the site with all facilities and amenities required, keeping in mind that there were going to be space constraints.
The project will consist of 3 stages, which 2/3 have already been completed by the Royal Wolf team. Factoring in all these requirements, Royal Wolf overcame some challenges faced and installed the quad stack to maximise on space, this incorporated installing 11 sheds and 9 platforms on the first day, followed by installing a further 25 cabins and 24 platforms by the third day.
Completing a project of this calibre within such a short amount of time meant the team across the board needed to be well co-ordinated and organised. The Royal Wolf team liaised with numerous suppliers who also did an amazing job at providing reliable service, ensuring the project is completed to the highest of standard, these included transport companies, a mobile crane crew along with a tower crane crew. Countless hours of overtime and even a 7 day working week were put in to ensure the site were to the requirements, and was ready for ProBuild to progress with Darling Harbour’s iconic Imax Theatre project. Royal Wolf has continually proven to go above and beyond for their client’s, ensuring they receive the best and most efficient service possible, and we couldn’t be more proud of the results our team has already achieved throughout “The Ribbon” project.
